Circular motion

The motion of a body in circle of fixed radius is called circular motion.

Example 1.The motion of a stone tied to a string when whirled in the air is a circular motion.

Example 2.The motion of a point on the rim of a cycle wheel about its axle is an example of circular motion.

Angular displacement  (0)

Let a particle is revolving in a circle of radius'r' in anticlockwise direction.

At time t =0,particle is at position A and after time  (t),it is at point B.

The angle described by the particle about the axis of rotation in a given time is called angular displacement. It is detested by 0.
i.e.,       <AOB=0=Angular displacement
          Since Angle = Arc/Radius - 0 = AB/r

Angular velocity (00)

Angular displacement is a dimensionless quantity and it's S.I.unit is radian.

The angle described by a rotating body per unit time is called angular velocity.
                             Or
The rate of change of angular displacement of a body is called angular velocity.

It is denoted by Greek  letter w (omega).Consider a particle moving in a circular path of radius'r in anti clockwise direction.Let the particle moving from A to B in the a time 't' second i.e.,particle has described angle 0 in time t second.

The angle described by particle per unit time = 0/t

Angular velocity  (00)=0/t

Dimensional formula of angular velocity is [M°L°T-1] and S.I. unit of angular velocity is radian/second or rad/s.

Division of elements of four blocks(s,p,d and f blocks)

The elements in the long from of the periodic table can be divided into four main blocks i.e., s,p,d and f blocks respectively. 1). s-block elements :  The elements in which the last electron enters the s-orbital of their outermost energy level are called s-block elements. This block constitute elements of groups 1 and 2 having the general outer shell electronic configuration as ns1 and ns2 respectively. The elements corresponding to ns1 configurations are called alkali metals while those corresponding to ns2 configurations are called alkaline metals. Thus, the general electronic configuration of s-block elements may be expressed as ns1or2. General characteristics of s-block elements: With the exception of hydrogen, the general characteristics of s-block elements are: (1) They are soft metals having low melting and boiling points. (2) They are highly reactive and reactive and readily from univalent or bivalent positive ions by losing the valence electron. (3) They have low...
